Unitary Solution to Coherent Cyclic DOA Estimation Problem

Abstract

Two unitary formulations of cyclic DOA algorithms are proposed, which are appropriate for both cyclic MUSIC algorithm and conjugate cyclic MUSIC algorithm. Firstly, the two approaches achieve a substantial reduction of the computational complexity via real-valued decomposition. Secondly, these unitary methods can deal with the direction-finding problem in situations with highly correlated or coherent signals. Finally, these unitary methods allow to select desired signals and to ignore interferences by exploiting the cyclostationary property of SOIs. Compared with cyclic MUSIC algorithm, simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed methods
